Who Can Submit
Current members of SEAMUS are eligible to submit creative works and research presentations to the conference. We encourage submissions that engage, connect, or resonate with the conference theme and that take advantage of the unique performance resources available at LSU.
Performer members and performing ensembles are welcome to propose the performance of a specific work by a composer other than themselves. These submissions will be considered alongside composer-submitted works and are no longer limited to a single Performer-Curated Concert. They should be prepared to include a live recording of themselves performing the work a concert or other public event.
Adjudication is conducted through a double-blind peer review and is designed to ensure anonymity and a lack of bias toward any particular composer, style, or piece. As such, members are required to remove any information that would identify themselves in any scores, recordings, or paper abstracts.
Conference Activities
Happenings
SEAMUS 2027 will feature concerts, paper sessions, panel discussions, installations, and workshops centered around the conference theme: AI, Immersive Audio, and Cultural Computing. This year’s theme looks to the future of electroacoustic music, with particular focus on the next generation of tools, instruments, and pedagogy. These areas will fundamentally reshape how we create, teach, think, and write about electroacoustic music.
Symposium on AI
A special Symposium on AI in Electroacoustic Music will open the conference on March 31, 2027. Special topic panels, round tables followed by an opening concert event will pull together conference submissions, curated discussions, and leaders in the field. All relevant submissions will be considered for this symposium.
